ARTSLIGHT shares the many faces and facets of creative activity and innovation on the Cape, using video, audio, and digital reporting and storytelling to connect community members, demystify the creative process, introduce artists and arts organizations, generate curiosity and passion about the sector, and build a shared awareness of the role the creative economy plays in our region.

The Salt Pond Visitor Center has a plastic baby shark to illustrate the plastic problem in our oceans. Made from many of the larger materials found in Mama Shug at Herring Cove Beach, Baby Shug will been seen by an estimated 4 million visitors this summer.

Artivist Sarah Thornington has unveiled her latest creation a Herring Gull - Cliodna (Clean-ah) - at the Welcome Center on Route 6 between exits 68 and 72. Created to help create awareness about plastic pollution, she was sponsored by the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce and CARE for the Cape and Islands.
